Sharing A Memory

Making Memories

Great memories, our lives are filled with them. There are endless memories that we look back on, they’re what make our lives worth living. From the first day of school, when you were so nervous; your first speeding ticket; your first job; additions to the family whether, they be furry or not — these are all memories that you will never forget.

Now you’re a big kid, always juggling so many to-do lists and appointments that you have to write in your planner the next time you have a double date. From where do so many memories originate? Where do they start? Your planner. Plans for Dinner

What’s coming up this week? Happy hour plans? Dinner outing with a friend? You never know which plans you’ll remember forever but once they happen, you know. When you have a friend over just to catch up, and suddenly you are both laughing hysterically from sharing stories. It’s a time like that you’ll treasure and the memory all began with “Sarah over for dinner” in your planner.

Your AT-A-GLANCE® is a place to plan your future memories and a place to look back and reminisce about the old ones. You can flip back in your planner to a few months ago and see “Work Outing.” Little did you know, that would be the night when your boss first told you that you received the promotion you’ve been working so hard to get. Or you can flip back to the “Conference” you had early in the year where you met someone that would later become your fiancé.

You never know where your plans are going to take you, or what memories they will hold, but they all started somewhere and that place is your AT-A-GLANCE. Your AT-A-GLANCE is like your own personal memoir holding all your memories from each day in the year. It’s a place where every day and every moment is yours.

It's Your Day

Eco-Friendly Planners

Recycle

Every year there is one thing that should always be scheduled in your planner – buying a new one.  When choosing a new planner you might want to use the same format, or you may want to try something new! But when looking for a new planner have you ever considered how much of the planner is made from recycled content? It is time for you to consider recycled planners, since not all planners are made the same!

Recycled Planner

Here at AT-A-GLANCE we love to recycle, after all we are a paper company! When choosing our paper we think about how conscious you are of the environment; that’s why all of our planners are made from at least 30% recyclable materials. So no matter which AT-A-GLANCE planner you are looking at, it’s a green product!

We even offer a few planners that are made of 100% recycled paper! In these recycled planners there is an eco-friendly tip on each page to give you new ideas on how to be green in all areas of your life!

Buying a new planner also brings up another issue – what do you do with your old one?

If your planner is wire bound, check wGreen Tip1ith your local recycling facility if you need to remove the wire before recycling!

Did you know that, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, your paper planner could become over 5,000 different paper products once it’s recycled like coffee filters, bandages, masking tape, hospital gowns, and much more?

So the next time you’re ordering your new AT-A-GLANCE planner consider if you want a recycled planner, and don’t forget to recycle your old one when you’re finished!

What’s So Special About Academic Planners?

An academic planner starts in July and ends in June. But what’s the purpose of having a planner that starts in July? There’s no difference in the format between planners, so what’s the big deal? Well, here’s what we know:

Students Love Academic PlannersAcademic Planner

When you’re a student and your planner aligns with your school year, it’s nice. Everything aligns well between your school work and your planner.  Plus as a student, you’re taking notes, remembering readings, and scheduling assignments for classes. An academic planner helps you prioritize what needs to be done!

Teachers Love Academic Planners

As a teacher, you’re always thinking in the school year schedule. Once you associate all your plans and to-do lists with the school season, it’s likely you’ll prefer an academic planner. After all, teachers have a lot to keep track of so they need a planner that fits their lifestyle!

Summer

Organizing Your Summer

Summer is a big deal! Even though summer officially begins June 21, life is starting to get crazy now.   There are so many events and plans that occur in the summer, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed.  You have holiday plans, weddings, vacations, kids to keep track of, and more. All these things will keep you busy – but what’s the best way to keep track of the summer without adding any extra stress to your plate? At-A-Glance planners and calendars can help keep your summer organized.

AT-A-GLANCE Appointment BookFor an organized summer we recommend a few products to keep you on track everywhere you go.   First, an appointment book is necessary. Depending on your needs, your appointment book could be daily, weekly, or monthly and could have time increments in your days if you prefer. In a planner, it’s easy to flip through the pages to see exactly what you’re doing and when.  Appointment books are also great for taking notes that apply to your schedule so you have all the information you need in one place. An appointment book is all about what works best for you to help you manage your schedule.

AT-A-GLANCE Wall CalendarNext, it’s great to have a calendar at home to compliment your personal and mobile calendars.  An erasable wall calendar is a great way to keep your family up to date with all the ever changing family plans. Because the calendar is erasable, it is easy to make changes without making a big mess.

Lastly, if your kids are busy bees you might need a calendar dedicated to their schedules only.  You can write down the times of soccer games, work schedules, project due dates, and more. Kids, no matter what age, always have a lot of activities going on, and a calendar dedicated solely to their schedule can help keep everyone organized.

Summer is almost here and usually that means plans get hectic, but this year your schedule doesn’t need to be crazy.  It’s much easier to stay organized when you have the right tools to plan your summer. Use At-A-Glance to help organize and plan your summer. Now you can enjoy your down time and know where you need to be.  Be the boss of your schedule rather than letting your schedule be the boss of you.

4 Must-Know Steps for Following Through

Planner and iPhone by koalazymonkeyBelow are the steps to making a powerful list that will offer you confidence that you are doing what you need to be doing, when you need to be doing it.

1) Write your list

Your first step is to write down all the tasks you can foresee having to do today and in the future—this is your master task list. Tasks that you don’t see doing anytime soon can be put on a “Someday” list.

Once you’ve chosen the specific tasks you wish to accomplish today, write them in your planner and organize your list by context. Simply put your work tasks at the top, your home tasks at the bottom and any errands or on-the-go tasks in the middle of your list. Some individuals like to go a step further and differentiate their contexts by using different colored inks.

2) Categorize your tasks by urgency and importance

This is an important step because it ultimately determines the path of your productivity.

Categorize your tasks with a coding system, using letters and numbers:

  • Scan through your list and select items that absolutely must be done today. Assign those the letter A. Be sure to be selective here—these are strictly time-sensitive tasks that must get done today.
  • Review the list for tasks that need to get done and assign the letter B to those. While not urgent, B-level tasks include the most important steps you take toward reaching your goals. You must get them done, but you won’t suffer consequences if they’re not completed today.
  • Put the letter C by items that are neither urgent nor important. These are items you want to do, but they can wait for another day. C-level tasks are the expendable part of your daily plan.

3) Give your tasks order

Now, number your tasks. Number each task in an order that suits your daily flow. Take into consideration your own patterns of productivity, daily energy swings, anticipated locations, and how one task affects another.

As you complete your list organization, it’s important to keep in mind that new tasks will undoubtedly pop up as you go about your day. Use the A-B-Cs and 1-2-3s of your list as a decision scale for choosing where this new task fits in. For example, you may have to decide if returning a phone call (a “B” task) is more important than meeting a project deadline (an “A” task).

4) Follow through on your list

The final step in prioritizing your list deals with your own behavior as you go through the day. The best course of action is for you to honor the priorities you’ve assigned to your tasks. By being impeccable with your word, you will enjoy better productivity and balance in your life.

Let us know if this method of prioritization works for you, and be sure to include new tips of your own.
